There has been an attempt to clear County road A-1 to re-open the roadway after being closed since several storms brought heavy snow to the area.
Four road crews spent two days clearing a path yet could only open one lane from Gallatin to the top of the pass. It remains unpassable to vehicles. Snow is up to eight or more feet in some areas. The county road department has confirmed that what was to be a temporary closure will be an extended one. A-1 will remain closed until spring when conditions allow for sufficient snow removal and resources are available to maintain the road in a safe condition for travel.
