Lassen County local ski hill, Coppervale, gets statewide attention when featured on ABC10 News weekly California Travel feature, Bartell’s Backroads. The video was shared on YouTube as well featuring the 70 year old and California’s last standing gas powered Rope Tow. Owner Norm and his wife shared the history of Coppervale as well as how the hill operates. If you have not visited Coppervale you can find it just before you enter Westwood on highway 36, just lookout for the lonely open sign as you come down from Fredonyer.
