Susanville CHP says there were minor injuries in Thursday’s collision pile-up on US 395.

After all was said and done, four vehicles and a semi were involved in the collision. A driver of a Peterbilt tractor-trailer failed to slow when he noticed stopped traffic on the highway, crashing into the back of a 2500 Dodge Ram. The Ram was forced into the rear of a Ford F150, pushing it off the shoulder of the highway. The Peterbilt continued traveling, eventually veering into the opposing lane and crashing into another vehicle that collided with a fourth car.

Two were taken to local hospitals to treat a broken nose and body pains.

The collision is under investigation though drugs and alcohol have been ruled out as a factor.
