Highway 36 running through Chester may look a bit different as the community comes together to discuss roadway improvements. The Plumas County transportation commission is hosting a project information and open house event to welcome your opinions and ideas on how to improve the highway that also serves as Chester’s Main Street. With Caltrans’ Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant Program the Plan aims to transform Main Street into a Complete Street with safer and more comfortable transportation options, adding sidewalks, bike lanes, crosswalks, ADA Accessibility improvements and other street design elements. You can share your thoughts at your choice of two sessions either 10:30am to noon, or 4pm to 5:30 at the Almanor Rec Center Tuesday April 26th. View the plans at Chester Main Street Project Website
