Quick thinking and courageous actions by a local electrician averted a potential disaster as a fire broke out in the attic of a Leavitt Lake home.
The event unfolded when the homeowner contacted a local electrician after expressing concerns about electrical issues and an apparent problem with their panel. As the panel was being inspected, an unexpected discovery sent the situation on high alert – smoke emerging from the attic vent.
Without hesitation, the owner of the electrician company, armed with a handheld extinguisher, entered the attic only to find a smoldering fire in the attic, in the spray-in insulation. The fire was extinguished with swift action and prompt response from multiple fire agencies.
The collaborative efforts of CDCR Fire from High Desert State Prison, Susan River Volunteer Fire Department, CalFire, and other responders were instrumental in minimizing damage and preserving the homeowner’s property.
Yet the homeowners gave special attention to the immediate response and bravery of the electrician, who potentially averted a more catastrophic outcome.
