Caltrans Projects Begin Today on 139 and 395

Plan on delays on 139 to start today as Caltrans begins the drapery project near Antelope Mountain. The first stage of the project will involve crews removing rock from the hilltop. You can expect 30-minute delays this week until that work is completed. By next week delays should be minimal as crews install the mesh drapery that will reduce rock falls onto the roadway. The project is expected to last into September.

If traveling after 7 pm on US 395 you can expect one-way traffic control as Caltrans begins resurfacing the roadway from now until July 22, Sunday evenings through Friday mornings. Following that, you will encounter one-way traffic control, Monday through Friday, during daytime hours. 17-minute traffic delays are anticipated throughout the project. The project spans from Sunnyside road to the 36 junction. Next week there will also be a closure of Richmond road with a detour in place from July 17 at 7 p.m. until July 19 at 7 a.m. Please follow detour signs in place during these operations and allot extra time for travel in the area.
