After months of closure from debris slides caused by intense winter storms, State Route 70 reopens to traffic. Today Caltrans will start to allow traffic through three times a day.
Your three windows of opportunity to cross the closure from the Greenville Wye to Jarbo Gap will be at 6:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 5:30 p.m. You will need to plan to be in line when these windows occur, but you are asked not to get in line any earlier than 15 minutes before the opening time to ensure the roadway is not blocked for emergencies or contractor access.
If you are local to the area, access will be available outside of these opening times from either side of the closure, but you will not be allowed to cross the slide area just east of Belden.
Caltrans says this schedule may change at any time due to weather, future slide activity, or operations.
