Bolstering Disaster Response and Health Emergencies, Eastern Plumas Health Unveils New Shelter Systems

SHARE NOW

Eastern Plumas Health was awarded grant funding through the Test and Treat Equity program from the state Department of Public Health. These funds allowed EPHC to purchase three shelter systems. These portable structures can function as a command center in response to disasters or health emergencies to act outside or in addition to medical facilities. The shelters will serve Plumas and Sierra counties should a controlled environment be needed.

If you want to get a closer look at one of the shelters EPHC will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 30th at 10 am in Portola. Tours of the structure will be available along with refreshments.

Mark your calendar and plan to join the celebration. For more information about the ribbon-cutting event or the shelters, contact EPHC Program Manager, Joanna Garneau at 530-832-6632.
