You’re urged to use caution when headed out on the lake over the holiday; the Lassen National Forest says a boat collided with the dock at the Almanor Boat Launch, causing significant damage.
The dock that gets boaters into the water at the Alamnor North Campground began to drift away into the open lake following the collision posing a risk to others out on the water. Recreational staff could pull most of the dock out of the water, which will remain until the extent of damage has been assessed, and necessary repairs can be made. If you witnessed the incident, you are asked to call the forest service at 258-2141.
Despite the collision with the dock, the Almanor Boat Launch will remain open, but you are urged to use caution on the dock.
