Homes along rural county roads just south of Alturas were on high alert this morning as the Sheriff’s office searched for an armed and dangerous man.
The alert went out around 6 a.m.
The suspect, identified as a 34-year-old Black male, was involved in a vehicle pursuit with sheriff deputies but managed to evade the pursuing vehicles.
The sheriff’s office warned residents in the area to lock their doors, remove keys from their vehicles, and secure ATVs and equipment.
Fortunately, within hours, the man was located and taken into custody.
No information has been shared regarding the circumstances of his arrest.
