36-year-old Tyler Scott Greaber was wanted in connection to the murder of 32-year-old Stacey Ann Edmond in February of 2021. The pair were a couple living together in Modoc County.
Sheriff Tex Dowdy Told ABC News that Edmond’s death was at first considered accidental due to blunt force trauma to the head, but the office continued to investigate the case but could never get evidence to charge Graeber.
The family hired a private investigator who was able to uncover new evidence, ending the three-year-long investigation. Deputies were able to track Greaber to Columbia, Missouri, where he was arrested on January 31st and taken back to Alturas. He has been booked into the county jail on murder charges. He is being held without bail.
The arrest was made possible with the help of the private investigator, the Columbia sheriff’s office, and the Modoc County District Attorney’s Office.
