Winter Travel Conditions Continue into Wednesday

Expect winter travel conditions to continue through mid-morning tomorrow. The Reno National Weather Service has extended the winter storm warning to 10 am Wednesday as the storm exits but leaves a mix of wet roads and subfreezing temperatures. Roads will deteriorate heading into this evening and travel may become hazardous as ice forms.

If you plan to travel the mountain passes today you can expect continuous moderate to heavy snow with 1-2″ falling per hour with gusty winds producing periods of whiteout conditions.

By Thursday into the weekend, travel conditions improve during the daytime.
