Election Day nears with only 5 days left to get your ballots in. Thus far a mere 12% of ballots have been received by the Lassen County Elections office, while 20% have been returned in Plumas. Your ballot was mailed out starting May 9th and should have hit your mailbox by the end of that week. In Plumas County, all votes will be entirely by mail with no regular polling places and only one drop box located at the Quincy Courthouse. Lassen county voters if you choose to not return mail your ballot you can drop it off in person on election day at the elections office or earlier at the 6 locations throughout the county. Those are located at the Old Courthouse in Susanville, the County government Building on Riverside Drive, one-Stop in Beiber, Janesville Fire Hall, Doyle Sr. Center, and the Westwood Wellness Center. Polls close June 7th at 8 pm, mail-in ballots must be postmarked by the 7th to be counted. Visit your elections office if you have not received your ballot or to learn more about how you can vote. Both Counties have some big races for both County Supervisors, the Plumas County sheriff, and the Assessor, while Susanville will vote for three City Council seats and a Sales Tax Measure to increase city revenue to continue to provide essential public safety services. Primary Election Day is next Tuesday.
