This weekend, Susanville will have the honor of hosting the 2024 District IX Cup, a highly anticipated event for Lassen Youth Soccer and the broader community. The tournament, set to take place on November 2nd and 3rd, will feature young athletes competing in the U10 and U12 age divisions at Susanville Ranch Park, while U14 teams will showcase their skills at Riverside Park.
With an estimated 300 visitors arriving, local businesses are encouraged to prepare for a weekend boost in patronage as players and their families start to arrive Friday evening. “Please be courteous and give them a friendly Susanville welcome,” Lassen Youth Soccer advised, expressing pride in being chosen to host as the largest league in CalNorth’s District IX.
The weekend promises to be a community event, with local vendors providing food, drinks, and official District Cup apparel for fans and families. Sno Mountain and Alpakas Tacos will be stationed at Ranch Park all weekend, offering food and refreshments, while Fine Designs will supply exclusive District Cup gear. Riverside Park attendees can enjoy coffee and deli fare from Get Roasted.
