A 32-year-old Lassen County man has died in a semi-collision that shut down US 395 for hours Wednesday afternoon.
Just before 11 am, 45-year-old Moren Dahl, driving a 2014 Peterbilt Semi pulling a flatbed trailer, was traveling northbound, about five miles north of County Road A25.
The CHP said Dahl slowed his truck down to make a right onto a ranch that adjoins the highway.
That’s when, a 2012 Mack Semi that was pulling a Chip trailer and traveling northbound failed to slow down for the truck in front of it. The Mack Semi hit the trailer of the Peterbilt Semi.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the Mack truck, the 32-year-old Lassen County man, whose name is being withheld pending family notification, died from his injuries.
Dahl was transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center by SEMSA ambulance to be treated for lacerations and pain.
The crash is under investigation.
