After hour-long interviews with the three candidates vying for the role, Jail Commander John McGarva, Detective Sgt. Dustin Russell, and Lt. Dave Woginrich will have to lie in wait on the board’s decision as Supervisor Chris Gallagher was unexpectedly unable to attend the closed session interviews.
It was the intention to possibly come out of yesterday’s interviews with a decision on who the next sheriff of Lassen County would be for the next 5 years, a term longer than any elected Sheriff.
CAO Richard Egan has said the board will likely meet early in closed session on February 13th to discuss the interviews and will likely be able to make the announcement when back open to the community
