CHP reported two separate DUI-related incidents causing minor injuries overnight on Sunday.
The first incident occurred just before 10 pm on HWY 395 at Hall Rd. Numerous calls were received by the CHP office reporting a reckless driver engaged in unsafe passing and driving at high speeds. Consequently, the driver of a sedan swerved on the roadway and attempted to pass another vehicle, resulting in a rear-end collision with yet another vehicle. Fortunately, only minor injuries were sustained, and those in the other vehicle were taken to Renown for medical treatment. The driver of the sedan was taken to Banner, where they were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The second incident took place on the other side of the county in Clear Creek, shortly after 10 pm, along HWY 147. A motorcycle collided head-on with a Ford Explorer. The driver of the motorcycle sustained minor injuries and was life-flighted to Enloe Medical Center, where they were treated and subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver of the SUV did not sustain any injuries from the collision.
The identities of those involved in the collisions have yet to be released.
