A fire broke out at Susanville RV Park this afternoon, February 13th, 2023. CAL FIRE Lassen-Modoc Unit, Susanville Police Department, and SUSAN RIVER FIRE District assisted Susanville Fire Department with extinguishing a 5th-wheel trailer home. No one was in the home at the time of the fire, but the owners had reported smelling propane earlier.
Susanville Fire determined that a gas leak found an ignition source and torched the trailer.
The fire departments remind you that if you ever smell gas, report it immediately and, if possible, turn off the gas source.
