Hungry Hippo Tourney
Sat, Jan 31 from 1:00pm to 3:30pmThe Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce encourages the community to get ready to chomp and compete in an epic Hungry Hippo Tourney featuring fun, friends and fierce munching.
This new version of a classic game is set for Jan. 31 at the Chester Park Skate Rink. Checkin runs from 1 to 1:45 p.m. and competition rounds start at 2.
Participants glide on a tube that their partner sends racing toward the center to munch up as many balls as they can before the clock runs out. The top five highest scorers after four rounds will take home the pot.
All ages are welcome. Registration is limited and costs $20 for a two-person team. Participants should wear clothing for winter weather and a helmet for the tube player. The event also includes music and hot food and drinks.
