The public is invited to learn about the Highway 395 Wildlife Crossing project at 6 p.m. May 21 at Jensen Hall at the Lassen County Fairgrounds.
The project seeks to increase safe passage for wildlife and reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions.
It is expected to be shovel-ready in 2028.
Speakers at the event include John Clerici, Lassen County Transportation Commission and Mari Galloway, California Program Director, Wildlands Network

The run will start at the historic courthouse in uptown and make its way down to the current Superior Court. The ceremony will start at 0645 hours and the run will commence at 0700. The route is approximately 1.7 miles and will be at a slow pace to ensure everyone is able to stay together. Please join us to support our local athletes. Now in its 42nd year, the Mile High 100 promises to be better than ever! The recent road construction on Hwy 36 has resulted in smooth new pavement and wider, safer shoulders—especially up the challenging Johnson Grade.
