Lassen County Sheriff Dean Growdon asks for community support for the first annual Special Olympics torch run happening this month. Local law enforcement including the Sheriff and Susanville Chief of Police Cochran, and Special Olympic athletes will be taking to the streets to bring awareness and support to the event. At the Susanville City Council, Sheriff Growdon shared there will be an opening ceremony taking place to kick off the events on June 16th at 7 am at the Historic Courthouse. You can also help support the cause by donating by visiting the Sheriffs or Probation Departments Facebook pages. So far over 1000 dollars have been collected to support the cause and the county’s Special Olympic athletes.
