Blasting on the hwy 70 rock slide has been successful. The blasts have loosened fractured rock from the slope and near the roadway. Minor blasting is expected to continue to remove and bring more debris closer to the roadway. Once scaling and blasting operations are complete the slide will be checked for safety prior to crews and equipment being placed underneath to continue to take away the debris. There is no current estimated time of reopening hwy 70 to one lane. You should continue to use alternate routes.
