Proper Pumpkin Disposal Tips for Clean Waste and Recycling Streams This Fall

SHARE NOW

As Halloween comes to an end and autumn progresses, residents are beginning to clean up their front porches and clear away seasonal decorations. C & S Waste Management services are offering key reminders on how to properly dispose of jack-o’-lanterns and old pumpkins to keep local waste and recycling streams clean and contamination-free.

Key Disposal Guidelines

  • Use the Black-Lid Garbage Cart: All old pumpkins and carved jack-o’-lanterns must be placed directly into your black-lid garbage cart.

  • Not Accepted in Green Waste: Pumpkins are not accepted as green waste material in the local service area.

  • Do Not Recycle: Pumpkins are non-recyclable items. Placing them in recycling bins leads to contamination of recyclable materials.

Following these guidelines ensures proper disposal and helps maintain clean waste streams throughout the community.

Thank you for helping keep our recycling clean and contamination-free. Have a safe and wonderful fall season!
