State Assemblywoman Heather Hadwick has officially recognized Northern California Cancer Advocates (NCCA) with her Non-Profit Excellence Award for October, celebrating the organization’s dedicated service to rural families facing cancer diagnoses.
The award honors NCCA’s steadfast commitment to helping individuals and families across Lassen and Plumas counties navigate the complex visual, emotional, and financial challenges of cancer treatments.
Assemblywoman Hadwick’s District Director, Yolanda Cookson, presented the recognition alongside key NCCA leadership, including Founder Rachelle Surian, Vice President Becky Williams, and Treasurer Carrie Williams.
According to Cookson, Assemblywoman Hadwick regularly follows the organization’s grassroots efforts on social media and has been deeply impressed by its meaningful community outreach and high-impact support network throughout Lassen County.
Through local initiatives, guidance, and community assistance, NCCA continues to provide vital resources to rural residents in northeastern California, ensuring no patient faces a cancer journey alone.
