Because of the high price of diesel, decisions have to be made. Farmers and ranchers can’t afford all the off-season maintenance and work at their farm. In a new survey, 40% of farmers and ranchers said they would have to do less field work like pruning, weed management, or irrigation management.
With nearly 1,000 farmers and ranchers participating, the findings highlight how diesel prices are affecting farms and ranches across California.
