Lassen National Forest will sell Christmas tree permits starting November 1, 2026. Permits cover specific cutting areas, so check the forest map carefully before buying. All sales are final.
You can buy permits online through Recreation.gov. Review the information provided before purchasing. You will need to create or log in to your Recreation.gov account to complete the transaction.
Permits are also available in person from November 1 to December 24 during regular business hours at any district office. The Supervisor’s Office accepts cash only.
Forest Service offices will close on November 11 and November 26 for federal holidays. Plan your visit accordingly.
Local vendors will sell permits as well. The list of vendors will be posted once finalized. This offers another option if you prefer to buy in person outside of district offices.
