Feather River College Athletics announces six sophomore men’s basketball team members have moved on to opportunities at four-year colleges after their memorable 2025-26 season.

The Golden Eagles finished 22-8 overall, completed a perfect 10-0 run through the Golden Valley Conference, captured the program’s first conference championship since 2016-17 and advanced to the second round of the California Community College Athletic Association Northern California regional playoffs.

Along the way, the Golden Eagles collected some of the conference’s highest individual honors: Damonte Duhart was named GVC MVP, head coach Derek Jensen was selected GVC coach of the year, and four Golden Eagles earned first team all-conference recognition.

But for all the wins, awards and championship memories, perhaps the most important accomplishment of the season came away from the scoreboard, said FRC: Seven Golden Eagles graduated from FRC with their associate degrees — and six of those young men have committed to continue their academic and basketball careers at four-year institutions next season.

“For a community college basketball program, there may be no better measure of success,” said the college.

GVC MVP Damonte Duhart will continue his career at Bellevue University, located just outside Omaha, Nebraska. Duhart capped an outstanding Feather River career by earning the conference’s highest individual honor and now takes the next step in his academic and athletic career with the Bruins.

First team all-GVC forward Nick Fletcher will remain in Northern California, continuing his career at Simpson University in Redding. Fletcher was a major contributor during the Golden Eagles’ championship season.

First team all-GVC point guard Armon Baker will head to Arizona, where he will continue his career at Benedictine University Mesa in Mesa. Baker helped direct the Golden Eagle offense from the point guard position and established himself as one of the conference’s top guards during FRC’s undefeated run through conference play.

Team captain and third-year sophomore Jerel Victor will continue his career at Avila University in Kansas City, Missouri. Victor’s impact on the program extended well beyond the box score, said coaches. As a veteran and team captain, he provided leadership and experience throughout a season that culminated in a conference championship.

Team leader and third-year sophomore Aaron Blake will continue his career at West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, California. Another veteran member of the Golden Eagle program, Blake’s leadership and commitment helped provide an important foundation for the team’s success.

For Quincy native Hayden Brawley, the journey from local basketball standout to Feather River Golden Eagle will now continue more than 1,800 miles from home at Central Baptist College in Conway, Arkansas. Brawley’s move to the four-year level represents a particularly special chapter for the program — a local student-athlete who had the opportunity to represent his hometown college will now take that experience with him to the next level in Arkansas.
