The Quincy Chamber of Commerce reports its micro grant program is now accepting applications through Aug. 30. After putting American Rescue Plan Act dollars directly into the hands of five local businesses in its first round, the chamber has opened a second round of the program, offering member businesses grants of $500 to $1,000 to invest in growth. Applications are due Sunday, Aug. 30.
Round 1 awarded grants to the Feather River Food Co-op, WildBio Flourishing, the Feather River Rail Society, Quintopia Brewing Co. and We Bake 4 U — five Quincy-area businesses now putting the funds toward equipment, improvements and other growth projects. With Round 2, the chamber says it aims to back another group of local businesses and keep ARPA dollars working in the local economy.
Funded through ARPA, the program is open to chamber members — both for-profit and nonprofit — at the business and nonprofit membership levels. Grants support investments in growth, such as new equipment, storefront and signage improvements, marketing, or new products and services, rather than routine operating costs. Awards are made on a rolling basis, round by round, until the funds are depleted.
