June 18th,  Team Dahle joined an amazing celebration to mark the grand opening of the remodeled Carnegie Library building in historic downtown Yreka. It will serve as the headquarters for the Siskiyou Economic Development Council as well as a rural business innovation hub for the North State region.
Small businesses are the very life of our rural communities, and helping them start, thrive and grow is one of critical missions of Siskiyou Economic Development, which puts a particular focus on assisting agriculture-related enterprises.
The events also included a frank discussion among local business leaders and top state officials from the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency and the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development — about workforce needs, access to capital, and how the alphabet soup of state programs designed to help businesses can work better for rural areas.
This project is the fruit of many years of work by Siskiyou Economic Development, with support from state and federal governments. I am grateful for their work to take a piece of history and orient toward a brighter future — and for putting Yreka on the map
