Seneca Healthcare District (SHD) is pleased to announce the final approval of the 2026 Auxiliary Wish List, totaling $51,412.00. This funding, made possible through the generosity and hard work of the Seneca Auxiliary, will significantly enhance patient care, safety, and operational efficiency across multiple departments.
The approved wish list supports critical needs throughout the organization, including Purchasing, Long-Term Care, Infection Prevention, Emergency Services, Surgery, Physical Therapy, Information Technology, and the Lake Almanor Clinic. Funded items range from patient care and rehabilitation equipment to advanced infection prevention technology and clinical tools that will directly benefit patients, residents, and staff. Items include:
- “SuperHandy Electric Yard Cart”, 48 V Li-Ion Battery, This motorized yard cart will enhance the safety of our purchasing staff who often haul heavy boxes across the campus in snow/ice.
- “Unitherm U-35 Iron on Clothing Labeler”: This unit will allow Long-Term Care staff to affix custom labels to residents’ clothing and belongings, ensuring things are identifiable and returned to the appropriate resident after laundering.
- “Hygiene Ensure Touch ATP Monitoring System”: This device detects residual organic matter that visual inspection cannot reliably identify, providing rapid feedback to nursing and Environmental Services Staff for immediate recleaning and + identify training needs.
- “Peter PICC Line Simulator”: Teaching model to enhance skills for patients with PICC (peripherally inserted central catheter) line.
- “Teaching Manikin—Thoracentesis”: Teaching manikin for care of patients with closed chest drainage following pneumothorax.
- “Olympus Colonoscope”: Provides for more rapid turnaround (cleaning/sterilization) between colonoscopy procedures.
- “Small Equipment Request”: Items include: Cuff Weights; Standard W/C with new Cushion; Transfer Bench, Shower Chair; Walker; MedBridge educational program.
- “Pediatric Exam Tables with Scales”: three pediatric examination tables with built-in scales to better care for infants and small children in the clinic.
- “File Stream System for Podiatry”: A specialized, high-speed tool designed to quickly and safely debride nails and calluses while simultaneously capturing dangerous, airborne fungal, bacterial, and viral particles via a vacuum.
- “GEEKOM A5 MINI PC”: Miniature PC’s for computer needs.
- “Miscellaneous Balance and Stability Equipment”: additional balance trainers and stability trainers to add to existing equipment.

As a gesture of gratitude, Seneca Healthcare District hosted its Annual Auxiliary Appreciation Luncheon on Saturday, June 6th, at 12:00 p.m. at the Almanor West Grill. It was an honor to formally thank and recognize the Auxiliary members for their invaluable contributions.
