The Feather River College Women’s Basketball program continues to make a meaningful impact off the court, dedicating their time and energy to mentoring local youth throughout the 2025–2026 season.

Despite the demands of a competitive season, the Golden Eagles remained committed to community engagement by volunteering at two youth basketball camps in Quincy. The first camp took place in November and welcomed coed 5th and 6th grade participants, providing young athletes with fundamental skill development, teamwork instruction, and a fun, supportive environment to learn the game.

Building on that momentum, the team continued their service with a second camp that ran for nine weeks from January through February 2026. Throughout the duration of the season, FRC student-athletes consistently showed up to lead drills, encourage participants, and serve as positive role models for the next generation.

“Our players embraced the opportunity to give back to the Quincy community,” said Head Coach Ashley Chavira. “They showed great commitment, balancing their responsibilities as student athletes while also assisting these children. It speaks volumes about their character and the culture we are building in our program.”

The camps not only provided skill development for local youth but also strengthened the connection between Feather River College and the Quincy community. Through their efforts, the Golden Eagles demonstrated leadership, service, and a dedication to making a lasting impact beyond basketball.

The FRC Women’s Basketball program looks forward to continuing its community involvement and inspiring future generations both on and off the court.
