Lassen High School girls wrestling team sophmore HWT, Marley Smith, traveled to Virginia Beach VA this weekend with Far Nor Cal Prodigy Wrestling Club accompanied by Lassen coach, Brian Moore, to battle her way thru some of the nation’s toughest wrestlers. Seeded 8th in the bracket Marley had a long drive to finals. Day 1 Match 1 against unseeded North Carolina secured Marley a win by fall and a score of 14-4. Match 2 against the 9 seed from Kentucky secured Marley a win in the quarter-finals by fall and a score of 24-8. Day 2 Match 1 against the 1 seed from Connecticut secured Marley a win by decision in the semi-finals with a score of 7-4. Match 2 against unseeded Florida secured Marley a win by major decision 12-2. Day 3 Finals match Marley placed 2nd by decision to a #9 nationally ranked opponent from New Jersey 7-15. This is Marleys 4th All American Title and her 2nd runner up placement at NHSCA Nationals.
