The Plumas County Elections Office announces a countywide art contest including participation from local students. The winning artwork will be prominently featured on the cover of the upcoming June 2 primary election voter information guide, providing a unique platform for young artists to showcase their talents within the community.
To enter the contest, artwork is due at the elections office by Jan. 16.
The judging of this contest will take place at the courthouse in Quincy Jan. 20 through 23. “We invite the public to engage in this artistic celebration by visiting the courthouse during the judging period and casting your vote for your favorite artwork,” said organizers. The criteria for judging are creativity, relevance to the theme and artistic execution, assessing each piece for its contribution to the themes of voting, democracy or community pride.
“Join us in celebrating the creativity of our youth and the spirit of community engagement,” said organizers. “Together, we can inspire the next generation of artists and active citizens.”
The winner will be announced Jan. 28, with the selected artwork gracing the cover of the voter information guide that will distributed to residents across Plumas County with their voting materials.
