Flood Advisory for Susan River Sand Bags at Susanville Fire Department

SHARE NOW

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for our area. Out of an abundance of caution, we are closely monitoring the forecast and hydrology predictions provided by the National Weather Service. Current projections indicate that additional rainfall may cause the Susan River to reach minor flood stage on Wednesday, December 24th.
Historically, the Susan River can respond rapidly to this amount of predicted precipitation. Residents living in areas prone to flooding are encouraged to remain alert and take appropriate precautionary measures. The Susanville Fire Department has sandbags available for City of Susanville and Lassen County residents who live in flood-prone areas. Residents may monitor live river levels and precipitation forecasts by visiting the NOAA National Weather Service California-Nevada River Forecast Center website: NOAA National Weather Service California Nevada River Forecast.
Please remain aware of changing conditions and take steps to protect your property and personal
safety.
