As many of you know, our beloved historical steakhouse experienced a fire early this morning, just after hosting our best Thanksgiving Dinner yet. The owners stated they were incredibly grateful for the time they shared during the holiday and will be holding onto those memories as they begin the rebuilding process.
The fire started due to old electrical wiring behind the soda machine. Thankfully, the quality and age of the timber used in our building, along with the brave efforts of our local firefighters, prevented the fire from becoming more devastating. An inspector even noted that the pkitchen was one of the cleanest they’ve seen!
Lassen Steaks is encouraged to share that the building is salvageable! While it will take time to rebuild and reopen, they are ready to start the journey immediately and look forward to welcoming you all back.
A huge thank you to the emergency responders who protected our home—the place we’ve poured our hearts into for the last three years. They also appreciate the person who reported the fire and everyone who has reached out with support, prayers, and love. Your kindness means everything to us.
Lassen Steaks stated though this isn’t how they wanted to end 2025, they are optimistic about what 2026 holds. They are coordinating with contractors, vendors, and insurance to determine our reopening timeline and promise to come back stronger than ever.
Our venue, Lassen Gardens, was unharmed by the fire and will continue hosting events as planned.
Thank you again for your ongoing support and heartfelt messages. We’ll be monitoring this post to respond as we can. If you have photos from your visits to Lassen Steakhouse, please share them here—we’re creating an album to celebrate memories before the fire. Updates will be shared as soon as we have them.
