Doug LaMalfa recently met with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Director Brian Nesvik to discuss the importance of reforming the Endangered Species Act. Doug encouraged him to take action on delisting the gray wolf, which has been threatening families and livestock unchecked for far too long. They also chatted about the need to change single-species management that creates constant conflict between different protected species while leaving everything else to suffer. Doug pushed for the service to focus on prioritizing comprehensive management of our storage and waterways to ensure that Northern Californians continue to have reliable and affordable water sources for both agricultural and fishing needs. Doug LaMalfa stated that he was grateful for the opportunity to share ideas and look forward to working together in the future.
