At approximately 11:00 AM today, Plumas County Search and Rescue was paged out to assist an injured motorcyclist on a new section of trail on Mt. Hough. The patient had been unconscious and was unable to reach road access on his own.

California Department of Fish and Wildlife and Plumas County Sheriff’s Office deputies were first to arrive on scene. As SAR personnel reached the patient, he appeared to have sustained a likely collarbone injury but had regained mobility. With standdby from officers and SAR members, he was safely walked out to the trailhead and he was transported to medical care in a patrol vehicle.

The best calls are the ones where everyone can walk out! We are grateful for the DFW units and Sheriff deputy that were first reponders on scene.
