Liberty Utilities announces its Commercial Incentive Program: “more than just a rebate opportunity, it’s a long-term business advantage,” says the utility. The program helps commercial customers offset the upfront cost of purchasing or upgrading to energy-efficient equipment by offering rebates for qualifying lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and other systems.

Liberty said businesses can benefit from a variety of incentive options — depending on equipment type — through the Commercial Incentive Program. Plumas County business owners or managers are invited to contact Liberty’s Energy Efficiency Program manager to learn about the options available to them and to see how their business can benefit from this program.

“These upgrades help reduce energy consumption, which can lead to lower electricity bills, not to mention a smaller carbon footprint for your business and a more environmentally friendly future for the community,” said Liberty.

Cascade Kitchens in South Lake Tahoe, the most recent business to participate in Liberty’s Commercial Incentive Program, received $8,597 in rebates for installing two high-efficiency HVAC systems, efficient lighting, 12 cooler fans and a state-of-the-art kitchen demand control ventilation system.

“Liberty was great to work with. Their team was knowledgeable and willing to help guide us through the whole process. The rebate at the end was absolutely worth the time and effort,” said Fran Faulknor, owner of Cascade Kitchens.

The incentives are a part of Liberty’s new construction rebate offerings, which support projects that go beyond California’s building efficiency standards. Not only does the rebate provide upfront savings on the initial purchase, but the energy-efficient nature of the new equipment is also projected to save kilowatt-hours of electricity every year, leading to long-term savings, said the utility.
