Indian Valley Community Defense Project Seeks Bids for Forest Thinning and Wildfire Risk Reduction

REQUEST FOR BIDS: Indian Valley Community Defense Project
The Indian Valley Community Defense (IVCD) project was developed by Sierra Institute in collaboration with private landowners. This project builds off the Taylorsville Community Defense Zone project completed in 2024/2025. The IVCD project will utilize forest thinning and fuels reduction focusing on sub merchantable material to reduce wildfire risk and improve forest health on private lands along Arlington and Genesee roads.
The IVCD Phase 1 Project consists of 152 acres of forest owned by a collective 8 private non-industrial forest landowners. The anticipated prescription includes 105 acres of hand thin. Operations will consist of hand felling and piling of trees or removal within specified units.
