Edit: The contractors are finished and the trail is now re-opened to the public!
Progress on the Bizz Johnson Trail rockfall removal project is coming along great! Here are a few photos of the spider excavator in action, clearing the rocks from the trail (many of which had to be hydraulically split) and pushed to the side to form a barrier for future falling rocks. Thanks to Lassen National Forest and Bureau of Land Management – California: Eagle Lake Field Office for working with us to get this amazing public resource re-opened! Lassen Land & Trails Trust is proud to be involved in this partnership to allow our community and visitors to safely enjoy our public lands. In the meantime, please continue to avoid this area to allow crews to work safely, and be aware that there may be vehicles on the trail between Hobo Camp and the rockfall.
