Registration Open for North State Giving Tuesday Participants
The official start in the lead up to North State Giving Tuesday begins Monday, August 18th, when
registration opens for nonprofit participants. This year, North State Giving Tuesday is slated for
December 2nd from 6AM – 8PM. An estimated 180 local nonprofits will be accepting donations online
at www.northstategives.org to further their work in our region. The event is brought to you by the
Community Foundation of the North State and presented by Umpqua Bank.
The 14-hour North State Giving Tuesday online event kicks off the ‘charitable season’ and is fueled by
the power of social media and collaboration. Generous local sponsors have made it possible for over
$100,000 in prizes to be announced throughout the day. Strong donor support helps nonprofits earn
extra money and every gift counts.
“This is my favorite time of year,” said Miriam Leal, the Community Foundation’s COO. “We are
excited to gear up for another giving season and to incorporate a few new components to the program
this year. Be sure to follow us on social media leading up to December 2nd to share in the excitement.”
In its 12th year, North State Giving Tuesday has raised over $10 million dollars to date for North State
nonprofits. The Community Foundation helps organizations market themselves via the website
platform www.northstategives.org. Last year, the event raised more than $1.6 million for North State
nonprofits, providing a much-needed end-of-year boost to 177 participating organizations.
501c3 nonprofit organizations from Shasta, Siskiyou, Trinity, Tehama and Modoc county are eligible to
register for participation. Registration is open August 18th through September 22nd. More information
available at www.northstategives.org.
