Death Investigation – Arrest Made
Sierra County, CA – In the early morning hours of August 8, 2025, the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding a possible deceased individual at a dispersed campsite south of the Sierra Brooks community.
Deputies responded and located a deceased female and an incoherent male at the site. Due to the suspicious circumstances, the California Department of Justice Bureau of Forensic Science and detectives from the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office were requested to assist in the investigation.
Later that morning, Jesse James Dallmann (36) of Sun Valley, Nevada, was arrested on a charge of homicide. Based on the investigation thus far, we believe this to be an isolated incident, and there is no known threat to the public.
The case remains under active investigation. No further details will be released at this time.
