Fond Farewell Delivered to Fire Chief Moore at Susanville’s City Council Meeting

City Hall was filled with a mixture of emotions as Fire Chief Moore of the Susanville Fire Department attended his final City Council meeting last night. After an illustrious career with the department, including a remarkable 10-year tenure as Fire Chief, Chief Moore expressed his gratitude to both the current and past councils for fostering an environment that allowed him to thrive.

The meeting took on a heartfelt tone as Chief Moore acknowledged the support and camaraderie he experienced throughout his career. He thanked the City Council for their unwavering backing, which enabled him to lead the fire department with dedication.
In recognition of his outstanding service, a proclamation from Senator Brian Dahle and Assemblywoman Dahle was presented to Chief Moore, commemorating his remarkable career. Mayor McCourt read the proclamation, honoring the Chief’s contributions to the community and his commitment to public safety.

As the meeting drew to a close, Chief Moore addressed the council with gratitude. He expressed his deep appreciation for the opportunity to serve and work alongside a dedicated team.

Chief Moore’s leadership and service have left an indelible mark on the city, and his departure is felt profoundly by all who had the privilege of working with him.

As Chief Moore prepares for his next chapter in life, the community will have the chance to say their farewells on his last day with the Susanville Fire Department, which is scheduled for next Friday, August 11th. This momentous occasion will undoubtedly be filled with bittersweet sentiments as Susanville bids adieu to a true leader and servant of the people.
