Tri-Union Seafoods is conducting a voluntary recall of certain canned tuna products due to a packaging error that poses a risk of botulism. The recall affects products sold under the Genova, Van Camp’s, H-E-B, and Trader Joe’s brands. These products were distributed to major stores such as Costco, Publix, Kroger, and Walmart across at least 26 states and the District of Columbia.
Affected states include Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.
Consumers are advised not to use the recalled products, even if they appear normal, and can return them to the store for a refund or dispose of them safely.
