Officer Involved Shooting Update: MPD Officer Killed
Marysville, CA – Early this morning, multiple law enforcement agencies executed a series of search warrants as part of an ongoing investigation into drug and firearm-related crimes. At approximately 7:50 a.m., during the operation at one of the locations, a subject opened fire, resulting in the injury of a Marysville Police Department officer.
The officer received immediate medical attention and was transported to Adventist Health Rideout, where, tragically, he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect was also struck during the exchange of gunfire and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The identification of the officer is being withheld pending next of kin notifications.
The incident is being investigated by the Yuba-Sutter Critical Incident and Officer-Involved Shooting Investigation Team.
