The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the identity of a body found in a Gilroy waterway as Gabriel Lara de Lara, a 21-year-old man from San Martin who was reported missing on December 1. He was discovered in a waterway near Monterey Road and Rucker Avenue and confirmed dead at the scene. His car had been found abandoned near this location shortly after he went missing. Lara de Lara’s family conducted searches in the area, eventually leading to the discovery of his body. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of death. They are asking anyone with relevant information to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (408) 808-4500.
