CHICO, Calif. — A section of the Skyway is currently closed after the discovery of a body on the roadway early Tuesday morning. The incident was reported shortly before 4 a.m. at the intersection of Skyway and Honey Run Road.
As of 7 a.m., the Butte County Sheriff’s Office has yet to release details regarding the victim’s cause of death, leaving many questions unanswered.
The closure affects eastbound Skyway at Bruce Road in South Chico. Motorists traveling west from Paradise will be redirected at Neal Road. Additionally, those in Butte Creek Canyon are advised to use Honey Run Road to reach Paradise and to avoid the intersection of Honey Run and Skyway in Chico.
Authorities are urging drivers to find alternate routes and remain cautious as the investigation continues.
