Roger Pyatt Price was sentenced by the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office to 11 years and 4 months plus an additional 25 years to life in state prison following convictions in two separate criminal cases.

The first case stemmed from a June 5, 2024 traffic stop by Redding Police, where officers found Price with a handgun, 100 rounds of ammunition, and multiple baggies of methamphetamine along with items indicating drug sales. Price pled guilty on December 9, 2024, to Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and Possession and Transportation for Sales of a Controlled Substance.

While awaiting sentencing for the first case, Price committed new offenses leading to the second case. On March 14, 2025, Redding Police stopped Price again. He initially refused to exit his vehicle or cooperate, but after de-escalation efforts, he exited showing an imitation firearm and a loaded shotgun in the vehicle. A jury convicted Price of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm on His Person, and Resisting, Delaying, or Obstructing a Peace Officer, with a special allegation that he was armed.

Price’s prior strike convictions contributed to the eligibility for a life sentence, resulting in the severe total punishment.
