An earthquake shook the Redding area early Friday morning.

The quake, which struck just before 4 a.m., registered a magnitude of 3.6. It was centered near Highway 299, just west of downtown, in the vicinity of Sunflower Drive and Leisha Lane.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or damage following the earthquake.
