One Way Traffic and Delays Near Grizzly Creek Redwoods Due to Slide Area Maintenance

SHARE NOW
The slide area east of Swimmer’s Delight near Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park remains under one-way traffic control. Tomorrow, on November 18, crews will be cleaning out the catchment area and continuing work on the rip-rap buttress that supports the open lane. Morning delays are expected to be up to 30 minutes. Beginning around noon, motorists should plan for 1-hour holds, with traffic being released at the top of each hour until dark.
If tomorrow’s work is completed without unforeseen circumstances, we look forward to returning to our typical 10-minute delays in the area.
The catchment berm built to collect debris is performing well. We’ll continue to monitor the slope, clear slide material, maintain the open lane, and adjust safety measures to keep travelers moving safely through the area.
Travelers should continue to travel safely and cautiously through the area.
